Services:
For primary school education professionals, I conduct forensic checks:
- policy documents
- web-pages, including compliance with statutory requirements
- School Development Plans and/or self-evaluation documents
- Ofsted inspection preparation documents
- other documents such as headteacher reports to governors.
For writers, I can support you to reach a stunningly accurate final draft:
- proofreading: more than a spellcheck; I will work on consistency of style, spelling, punctuation, grammar, typos, spacing etc
- editing: I will also work on theflow, accuracy and consistency of your content, focusing on ease of reading and the impact of words.
I can also check websites, marketing material, documents and essays.
After a detailed look by my second-pair-of-eyes, your documents will be transformed, becoming professional, clear and engaging for the reader.
Charges
I charge for documents using the word count, so you know exactly how much I will invoice you for, once the work is finished. Proofreading is £15 per thousand words, and editing is £20 per thousand words, with negotiable discounts for documents over 20,000 words.
My website charge is £10 per page, or £100 for a school website, plus linked document checks, for example policies, charged by word count.
About me
I have a first-class honours degree (Open University), a diploma in management from the Chartered Management Institute, and Proofreading 1 from the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. A qualified teacher, I worked in education for thirty years, including as a headteacher, an Ofsted inspector, and in leadership roles in councils, including as Head of Education.
