About

Chris is proud of her Open University degree and qualifying as a teacher through the Open University, achieving both while her three children were young.

During her 30-year education career, Chris worked as a class teacher, a primary school headteacher, and an Ofsted inspector, as well as setting up and managing pre-schools.  She was also principal of a Further Education Centre. In 2000 Chris was invited to Buckingham Palace to celebrate her contribution to education.

Over the next ten years, she occupied a series of senior management roles in county councils, leading on the quality of education in Oxfordshire, and most recently as Head of Education in Warwickshire, with responsibility for early years, primary and secondary schools, through to adult education.

Now retired, Chris focuses on her writing, rewilding the garden, and volunteering locally as a primary school governor.

Between 2020 and 2023, Chris was proud to see the publication of five books:

Zade, a dystopian vision of education

A School Inspector Calls, but who is the fool in the school, a satirical take on school inspection

and the #Glitch trilogy of political eco-thrillers comprising #stoptheglitch, #isolate and #FutureProof.

2023 saw a new challenge for Chris, as she completed Proofreading 1, from the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, and after much voluntary experience proofreading, she worked for Check Mate offering paid proofreading and proof editing.

In 2025 Chris became an affiliate of IVET (International Values Education Trust).
